Up next in my Friday Favorites is a cozy mystery series. And here I am again with another series that I think a lot of people have not heard of. Do I just have weird taste in books? Maybe I do, but that’s ok.
This week, I’m going to tell you about The Haunting Danielle Series by Bobbi Holmes.
Aren’t the covers soooo pretty? And, fun fact, the cover artist is the author’s daughter! I love that. Scroll down below the pictures for more!

Back in 2019, I kept seeing this series pop up in my recommendations on Goodreads and on Amazon. And for quite a while, I just ignored it, sure it wouldn’t be to my liking. And then one day when I was scrolling through Audible, I saw that the first book was available on audio. I have the 24 credits a year plan, and my credits had just refreshed, so I was feeling like a rich woman. I rolled the dice. And from the very beginning, I have wondered what in the world took me so long to give this series a try.
This series has so much to love. Charming cover art; a small-town setting on the Oregon coast; a main character who moves to town to open a B&B in a house she inherited; found-family; pets; a cast of interesting, fully realized characters each with their own back story and life; gradual, realistic character development; and intriguing mysteries. Oh, and ghosts! But not creepy ghosts – these ghosts are more like living people, except only some people (including the main character, Danielle) can see them and interact with them.
In the first book in the series, Danielle meets the ghost of Walt Marlow on her first visit to the house she inherited from an aunt. Walt lived and died in the house about a hundred years ago, and he tells Danielle that he will continue to haunt her unless she agrees to look into how he died.
This is a great series, and as you can see it has a huge backlist – 32 books currently released, and The Ghost and the Twins is scheduled to release on October 30th.
If you like cozy mysteries, go give this series a try and let me know in the comments how you liked it!
